Looking back, I’ve always been fascinated by weddings and events. The romance, the design, the organisation and celebration all appealed to the little girl inside me who longed for fairytales. When an opportunity came up over ten years ago to step out of my existing career path and cross into events, I threw myself at the opportunity and made the most of it.
I have worked in some beautiful buildings and for some wonderful people. With every role I have filled my education continued through experience. When I browse the photographs in my photo gallery I realise just how lucky I am to have spent the last ten years in the industry I have.
When you are in your late twenties and early thirties bringing up a young family it can be difficult to commit the hours you need to both work and home. If you fulfil your role at work to the very best of your ability it often means very long hours far beyond what is contracted. It really is just the nature of the industry. I missed a lot of my children’s early years and found myself realising they needed to see my face before they went to bed and not just over FaceTime.
A few years ago I chose to change my reality and spend some time building a business that would allow me to do a portion of the school runs, say good night to my children most of the time and utilise my knowledge and experience.
